Solution
Current emergency services assisting in the search and rescue of endangered people in a mountainous environment are not efficient enough given the meteorological or geographical conditions of the interested location. Quicker reaction time to emergency calls or disappearances from people would potentially reduce the mortality rate.
In addition, having a system capable of surveying a bigger area of terrain quicker with the aid of computer vision to identify individuals reduces human error when searching. Less assisted rescue would reduce the cost of operation given autonomous UAV operation with person recognition; using remote-controlled UAVs would need a person per UAV.
